Could you tell if this episode was made with AI?
If you've ever felt torn about using AI in your own business, wondering whether it makes your work any less real or any less yours, this episode is for you.
In this episode of Connecting to Spirit, I share an experiment that changed how I think about authenticity, technology and my own voice.
I record every episode by myself. No creative team, no editor, no ghostwriter. I use ChatGPT the way I'd use a walk with my dog, to think out loud, tell stories and shape ideas, then I push back on anything that doesn't sound like me. But when I heard platforms are about to start labelling AI generated content, I wanted to test it properly. So I switched the recorder on and let it run, completely unscripted and unedited, bumps and all.
Somewhere in the middle of talking it through out loud, I landed on something I needed to say plainly:
"I don't apologise for using AI."
What followed was a clearer sense of what AI can actually do for a healer or practitioner, and what it can never touch.
In this conversation, I explore the real difference between AI generated noise and a genuine voice that's simply been polished, why small independent practitioners now have access to visibility that used to belong only to big budget productions, and why lived experience is the one thing no tool can replicate.
In this episode you'll discover:
The real difference between AI generated noise and a voice that's simply been polished
Why small, independent healers now have access to visibility that used to belong only to big budget productions
How I actually use ChatGPT in my creative process, from dog walks to pushing back on anything too "markety"
What editing my first book taught me about trusting someone else to help shape my story
Why AI can refine a message but can never replace lived experience
The self-judgment that makes this work feel harder than it needs to be

Have you heard that AI is now gonna start adding to wherever we're posting that what we have created is with AI content? I'm Lisa Brandis. I'm the host of Connecting to Spirit, and I wanted to talk about AI energetics and how it affects you in business. So I challenged myself today to open up a podcast episode that is totally unscripted and just sharing from my perspective and point of view, just in a way to kind of tune in and get a feel for the energetics and to see whether, in all authenticity, there's a difference in how I show up and how the podcast episode is received, most importantly, by you. Whoops. So yeah, all the bumps and, and, and movements are gonna be included in this, this episode, um, just as part of a test. So interesting, when I saw that, I thought, wow, like, AI-- how does AI know that it's not my authentic voice or that it's not something that's been purely generated by AI?
And then I kind of thought, it's gonna stifle or slow down some of the way we produce content, uh, when we're looking at small entrepreneurs versus big production companies. So look at The Diary of a CEO, for instance. He has a whole team of full-time staff that help him to create such polished podcast episodes. And then we look at us, the little guys, that are also able now, with the technology that has been released, to be able to share our voice, especially for healers that have constantly played safe or just not even, you know, been able to get any traction because big companies with big budgets will naturally be able to have the marketing budget spend in order to get the visibility. So one of-- I saw a post on, um, on a, a platform. I can't remember the name of the platform right now.
And he was talking about there being a difference between junk AI-generated just stuff that's put out purely to capture people's attention and drive business, which is, I guess, what no one wants to see, more AI slop thrown out there. We start- we're starting to see, you know, lots of AI-generated, um, ads and images coming up on our Facebook feed, and I must admit, you start seeing it and it's like, yeah, that's generic. Uh, not to say the business behind the AI image is generic, but the image is generic. So I absolutely understand we wanna start to identify what is just purely AI Forgot to t- turn my phone off. Um, what is purely AI junk just being pushed out, or what is someone's unique voice that has been filtered through AI and then polished?
So let me share with you what my process has been in producing this podcast, which I do all by myself. There is no-- I don't have a creative team. I don't have an editor. I do everything myself, which is, at this stage of my podcast, by design, because I really wanna be able to make sure that I know what I'm, what I'm producing and what I'm publishing is the way I want to share and the way I want to energetically transmit who I am and what I teach and, and how I work. So what I do is, and I'll tell you my processes, um, when it's time to come up with creative content for the podcast, I would literally plug in my earphone, get into ChatGPT, and I'd be taking my dog for a walk, and I would have an idea or a concept around what I wanna teach, and then I would start telling stories from past experiences where I have either had a lesson and evolved beyond it, or, um, I just start sharing in big big kind of rants with, with AI something that's happened, which you'll recognize that there are authentic stories in every episode that I share. So- Then what AI would do is I would then put in prompts like make sure that this has a teaching element to it because I don't wanna just be talking about myself. I wanna make sure that it's relevant for you, that the up-and-coming practitioner who's got all the training but just sits in indecision or doesn't know how to take action or is scared to put themselves out there, I wanna be able to give instructions and content that's highly valuable. So I would then put in a prompt once I've got all my stories, um, what can I do in order to add a teaching element to this? And then I make sure that what Chatty comes back with is something that I can authentically and energetically stand behind. So it's polished, and it's also my voice, but I've also edited what it comes back with. And don't, don't worry, I push back if, if Chatty, as I call it, comes up with something that just sounds too markety or doesn't sound like it's something I authentically stand behind or live or have lived through, then I will change it, and I'll push back. Um, so basically, this can sometimes be, you know, a couple of hour process that can stretch across a few days. Then what I do is I ask Chatty, "What can I do to make this episode exceptional?" So I'm looking at how can I take it and elevate it even more because that's a framework that I'm wanting to do is to make sure that there's exceptional quality in what it is that I put out and I produce. Um, and also making sure that it's not too polished and perfect that it doesn't relate to you, okay? So it needs to also be high standard 'cause that's important to me, quality, professional, but also it still needs to be approachable, believable, and well, when I say believable, I mean it's gotta-- you'll, you'll know the resonance of my truth. The story is either something I've lived through or it's something I've made up, which I never do, hand on heart. It's ex- lived experience. So
when someone's being real, we feel it. There's an energetic understanding that this is truth. Now, AI can never have lived experiences, so AI is exceptional in polishing and editing and reframing things and helping us to get our mind clear on what we're doing, but it can never take place of real connection. It can never take place- Of our natural healing cadence that comes on our voice. So I firmly believe that when we share our voice, there's a frequency that draws to us those who can most benefit from who we are and what we know, and what we've authentically lived through, and how we can teach and how we can help them or you on this next stage of your journey. So-- And then I do also have an ADHD mind and 23 years of business expertise and experiences, so I can sometimes waffle. Those who have been in my in-person classes will attest to the fact that sometimes I go on a bit of a tangent. Um, but you know, it's also what makes me great. So it can be something that is good and also not good at times. So
I don't mind a little bit of polishing and editing, and I kind of look at it that when I wrote this book, the way I began was I, I wrote the book where I sat down and I shared my personal, my heart stories like it was just for myself, like a dear diary. And I was told, write with the door shut, like no one's ever gonna read it, and that was step one. I remember thinking, I've finished the book. I had a massive manuscript, and I gave it to my editor, beautiful Eileen, who gave my book back to me, my book baby, and it was half the size. And she was like, "Don't panic. I've just pulled out the stories that I don't think are relevant to the audience, and we can always add them back in later if we decide there's a reason for it to be there." So, you know, I, I think AI's now able to do that for us, where it can, it can be a, it can be a collaboration that allows us to create meaningful work and content, and also allows us to be more visible. And it's leveling the play- playing field with some of these people that used to have millions of followers. You know, some of us that are just trying to get noticed and visible will get reach now that we never had before. So algorithms are changing, the internet's changing, AI is changing, and we as leaders have to evolve and have to work with it.
So let me know in the comments below if you could tell the difference between this episode. I'm going to not edit it. I'm literally going to share it word for word verbatim and just put it out there. A, because it'll save me a whole lot of time, and B, because it's an experiment I wanted to trial with. Because I think sometimes my belief is that I'm more messy than I actually am, or that- The clarity of my message sometimes isn't conveyed. You know how sometimes we just think we're worse than we are? So in all honesty, it's that self-judgment that maybe comes in and critiques and makes this job harder than it maybe needs to be. So let me know if it resonated with you. Let me know your thoughts around it. But, um, I,
I, I actually wanna finish this with saying I don't apologize for using AI. I'm an innovative, uh, healer and practitioner, and I think that we need to use any tool that's available to us to maximize the possibility that you, who needs the services that I offer, can find me. And we can begin to build a community that has lasting change, that creates light workers that are amplifying love on the planet, that are building incredible healing businesses, working with their intuition and the full power of who they are and how they can show up in the world, and knowing that they're fully supported step by step in what that is and what it takes to create beautiful, powerful, professional healing practices. So if that sounds-- here comes the promo. If that sounds like you, and you're just literally going, "Oh my God, Litza, that is exactly what I wanna do. I'm a born healer and a light worker. I've got the skills. I know this is what I wanna do, but I just don't know how to start being visible and how to put myself out there, or even what it looks like to establish a professional practice." So
if that sounds like you, I'm running a, um, webinar that is free to attend. I will drop the link to the webinar. It's coming up, uh, on the twentieth-seventh of September.
