How to Strengthen Your Intuition (3 Simple Daily Practices)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You’re not lacking intuition — you’re just not recognising it.
The more you notice it, the stronger it becomes.
Once you begin recognising your intuition, the next step is learning how to strengthen it.
In this episode, I share simple, practical ways to deepen your connection to intuition and start trusting it in your everyday life.
Rather than something mysterious or out of reach, intuition is already present — it just requires awareness, space, and trust.
I also share a personal story of following a strong intuitive nudge that led to an unexpected and meaningful reconnection, showing how intuition often guides us one step at a time.
We explore why slowing down is essential, how overthinking blocks intuitive guidance, and how shifting your focus away from needing to be “right” allows your intuition to come through more clearly.
If you’ve ever questioned whether you’re intuitive, or wondered how to strengthen it, this episode will help you see that it’s already there — and show you how to begin working with it more consciously.

intuition is something that actually gets stronger. The more that you notice it. I had this strong feeling, I decided not to question it. intuition doesn't always explain itself. It doesn't give you the full picture, It just gives you that next step. the stronger your intuition becomes. you listen to my last episode, you'll know that intuition is often something we override. We feel it, and then a moment later we question it. So the next question becomes, how do you actually strengthen your intuition? Not in a big, overwhelming way, but in your everyday life. Welcome to Connecting to Spirit. I'm your host Lisa Brandis, and in this podcast we explore intuition, spiritual awareness, and the deeper guidance that is available to. All of us, and this episode really is the next step in that journey because once you've started to recognize your intuition, the most important thing becomes learning how to build the trust with it. One of the biggest misconceptions about intuition is that it's something you either have. Or you don't have, and I know we've covered that in other episodes, but what I've seen over and over again, both in my own life and working with my students is that intuition is something that actually gets stronger. The more that you notice it. It's not something that is separate from you. It's already there. It always has been woven into your everyday life. So the first way to strengthen your intuitive knowing is the hard part. It's to slow down, slow down enough so that you can notice it. Because intuition is subtle. It doesn't come in a loud, booming voice. It's not dramatic. It's often that quiet. Feeling a gentle, just a gentle knowing. Something that kind of passes through the mind quickly. And if your life is busy and fast and constantly moving, like most of ours is, you're going to miss it. So I was trying to think of an example, and I remember this one moment really clearly. I had this, I was just in the house. I had this strong feeling, came through like a really clear message to go outside and I felt it so clearly and it was so strong. I decided not to question it. So I got up, I walked outside and I remember standing in my driveway, leaning on my car, thinking, okay, what's next? Like, what am I doing out here? And then I looked up and saw the beau, a beautiful sunset, and I kind of thought, Hmm, maybe my guides wanted me to experience this. And then as I was just out there in the present moment, I noticed. Uh, someone was walking towards me and there were quite a bit of distance, um, walking their dog, and as they started to get closer, I noticed that it was someone that I knew and that I loved very dearly. I recognized her as she got closer, she came into focus and I realized it was my old boss and. A spiritual mentor. I know you've heard me talk about Raylene, and she was someone I hadn't seen in a very long time. We'd both moved into the same area. Neither of us knew where each other lived, and in that moment we were just so genuinely happy to see each other. And it was the first time she'd walked around the park that was opposite my house. She was just. Acting on inspiration as well. We ended up spending the most glorious two hours together. I invited her into my home, showed her around. We chatted with the family, and then by the time we'd finished connecting, it was dark outside, so I offered to drop her home. Popped her and the dog in the car, and then I got to see her, how she showed me around it. And when we worked together, she had very clear boundaries. So I'd never been into her home before, but now that I was no longer working with her, that relationship had shifted and. It felt like something or, or our spirit guides had brought us together, not through planning, not through effort, but through a simple moment of following that impulse, that feeling that made no logical sense. And this is what I mean when I say intuition doesn't always explain itself. It doesn't give you the full picture, like go outside Rayeleen's out there, right? It just gives you that next step. And the more you listen to those. Small nudges, the stronger your intuition becomes. And I like to think of it as playing in this. Bigger, beautiful synchronistic world. So the second way to strengthen your intuition is learning how to get out of your head, because this is where most people block themselves. And one of the things I see all the time when I'm teaching students how to trust their intuition is that people think they don't have intuition. They'll say things to me like, I'm not getting anything, Lisa. Nothing's coming through. But what's actually happening in that moment is fear stepped in their mind, starts to doubt and analyze. They also compare themselves to what the other students in the class might be receiving. And before they've even given themself a chance to receive anything, they're starting to block their guidance. So what I simply do is guide them into. Getting in the power, I get them to pause, to take a deep breath, to just come back into that moment and let go of any expectation of needing to get the message right. And as soon as they do that, something starts to come through, not because they're suddenly more intuitive, but because they got out of their own way. And this is really important to understand. Intuition doesn't come through when you are analyzing or thinking it comes through when you're simply open-hearted and being receptive. And one of the easiest ways that I've found to do that is to just take your focus off yourself instead of thinking, oh, what if I don't get it right, or, what if I look silly? What if it's not accurate? Instead shift into asking your guides. Help me to be of service to the person I'm doing this reading for. What wants to come through? Be curious, be open, and because the moment you do that, you move out of overthinking. You get back into the connection with the person that needs to hear that message from you in that moment. And one more way that you can strengthen your intuition is to start trusting in those small everyday moment. Not big life decisions. They're the hard ones, but the small ones like just go outside because intuition grows through the relationship. Okay. And like any relationship, it builds through consistency. So it might be something really simple like find me a car park. Or thinking about someone, and then they message you, having a quiet feeling about something, and then just be really aware of your first response to a situation. So instead of brushing it off, you just simply acknowledge it. And even if you decide not to act on it, noticing it starts to strengthen. Your brain interpreting those messages. And when I tune into this. What I hear is something very simple. Intuition strengthens through relationship, not pressure, okay? It's not something you can force. It's something you begin to trust over time. So if you take one thing from this episode, let it be this. You don't need to become more intuitive. You just need to become more aware of the intuition that's already there and start noticing these small moments, those quiet nudges, those first responses, because that's where it all begins. And if you are ready to go deeper into this and you want guided support. I do teach this in a much more structured way where you can actually develop your intuition and begin using it in a way that not only supports your life, but also inspires uplifts and helps others. You can find all the details in the show notes. So I hope you have enjoyed this podcast episode. It's been so great for me to reminisce over those past moments and quite challenging when you've been doing this for 20 years to come up with an example and a story that kind of highlights the basic instructions of how you two can develop your intuition and how you can get clear. Guidance. It's going to empower you and make life just that much more incredible. So if you've loved this episode, please share it with a friend. Let me know. Send me a message.
